Strawberry Glazed Donuts (Pink, Pretty, and Perfectly Sweet)

Ingredients

Makes 12-15 donuts.

For the Donuts:

  • 3½ cups (440g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup (180ml) warm milk
  • ¼ cup (60ml) warm water
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Strawberry Glaze:

  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup strawberry puree (from fresh or frozen strawberries, strained)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Strawberry glazed donuts are a dream come true. Soft, fluffy yeast donuts. Glossy, naturally pink strawberry glaze. 30 minutes. Better than any bakery. Make a batch. Watch them disappear.

Make Dough

Whisk flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, warm water, eggs, and butter. Knead 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and rise 1-2 hours until doubled.

Roll & Cut

Roll dough to ½-inch thickness. Cut with a donut cutter. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and rise 30-45 minutes until puffy.

Heat Oil

Heat 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry

Fry donuts 2-3 at a time, 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown. Drain on wire rack.

Make Glaze

In a bowl, whisk powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and lemon juice until smooth.

Glaze & Serve

Dip warm donuts into glaze. Place on a rack to set (about 10 minutes). Pink, pretty, perfectly sweet.
