  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)

Garlic bread is great. Cheesy garlic bread is legendary. Crusty bread slathered in garlic butter, topped with mozzarella and Parmesan, then baked until golden and bubbly.

Fifteen minutes. Pasta’s best friend.

Makes 8-10 slices.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Preheat

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil.

Make Garlic Butter

In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley until combined.

Assemble

Slice bread in half lengthwise. Place cut-side up on baking sheet.

Spread garlic butter evenly over both halves.

Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top.

Bake

Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly and edges are golden.

Serve

Optional: broil for 1-2 minutes for extra golden top.

Slice crosswise. Serve warm. Try not to eat all of it.
